Distilled in the valley ... During a study trip to Scotland SLYRS founder Florian Stetter had the vision to create an Upper Bavarian whisky. He realized it in the heart of the Bavarian Alps: With great attention to detail, the best Bavarian ingredients and careful manufacturing processes, the original SLYRS Bavarian Single Malt Whisky with its fruity-malty character is crafted in the SLYRS Whisky Distillery in Neuhaus at lake Schliersee.
... matured on the mountain Mountains in front of the doorstep, an inspiration to the mind: SLYRS whisky breathes the fresh mountain air of the Upper Bavarian Alps and matures in these heights to perfection. In 2014 SLYRS founding partner Anton Stetter and Hans Kemenater, managing director and master distiller, put their idea into action. They used a ski lift to transport around 50 specially selected whisky casks to an altitude of 1501 meters to the summit of Mount Stümpfling. This is where SLYRS’ unique Mountain Warehouse is located and the SLYRS Mountain Edition matures to perfection for 5 years. Extreme temperature fluctuations up to 60 degrees and the purest mountain air characterize the special storage location and the whisky’s intense and extraordinary flavour profile.
